Hypnosis is about getting the mind so relaxed that it is more receptive to commands. Hypnosis has been around since 4 B.C and has been extremely controversial subject ever since. In this article, I am going to discuss hypnotic commands you can put in your copy. It's one thing to have an effective sales letter that flows logically, knocks down objection, and ask for the sale. But it's more powerful to interject hypnotic elements that intensify the desire you want your customer to feel.
Putting hypnotic command in your copy can put you head and shoulders above your competition who are clueless about these secret tactics. Now obviously you don't want to put your readers to sleep. Not by a long short. What am talking about is placing hypnotic elements in the copy that makes the writing irresistible which increase the chance customer will act based on what they've read.
Have you ever read a story and felt time pass you by quickly? You're so enthralled in the text that you look at the clock and realize that two hours went by but it seem like two minutes? During that time, someone might have tried to say something to you, but they didn't get your attention because you were entranced in the text. Face it, you were hypnotized. And that's what I want your customers to feel when they read your copy!
A Warning Before You Use Hypnotic Command:
Before you implement these hypnotic secrets into your copy am about to reveal make sure they must be used ethically because the elements are so powerful. If you're selling something that is of worthwhile value to someone, then hypnotic commands can help "edge" the customer towards making a sale. However, if you are relying on these hypnotic command to "fool" the customer into buying a scam product, then you shouldn't be in this business.
Remember, you're not using hypnotic elements to manipulate people. You cannot convince people to do something that they don't have latent desire to do. You're using hypnotic elements to make your copy more persuasive and irresistible.
Hypnotic Stories
People love stories, I'm sure when you were a child, you had your parents read the same children's book over and over again. A good story will keep hold people's attention. That's why you need to have a good story in your copy.
When writing your sales letter, think of how you can tell a captivating story that indirectly shows the customer that what you're selling will solve their problem or fulfill a desire. You'll be able to escape people's "mental radar" and emphasize your selling points without appearing too salesy.
Another important thing you need to remember, always make sure you insert quotes into your story. A line with quotes inserted makes the story come alive. That's why having quotes around a headline increase respond because it gives the reader a sense that the letter is speaking directly out loud to them. These quotes will also attract reader's eyes as they scan down the page.
Hypnotic Embedded Commands
Now I am going to discuss using direct commands that also evade people's mental radars. Take these two example. Which statement get your guard up if you were to read them in a sales letter?
- Read every word of this article
or the following story ...
- As you read every word of this article, you'll discover the secret of Alvin Phang and how you can harness them to make your blog a money maker.
Obviously, if you read the first sentence , you resistance will go up because you feel that the reader did not formed a good rapport with you. In fact, you might feel the author was trying to force you to read.
Whereas if the command was hidden in an innocent sentence, you will feel a friendly tone that the reader was talking to you and your your guard would be down and you'd be more than likely to take action on that command.
In writing, italicizing or putting the command in bold would delineate the command. It makes your prospect see the bold face part as a command, since it is embedded in the context of a friendly sentence, it will slip through someone's mental radar and into their unconscious.
You see, it's all about escaping the left side (the logical, critical side) of the brain. They don't know that they are being given a command. With that you can gain compliance effortlessly, without sounding like you're trying to pressure people.
Embedded command can be inserted anywhere in the copy. I like to embed a call to action command like: "Buy It Now" or "Take Action Today" when I close a letter. These words by themselves would agitate the left side of the brain that will raises skepticism. But in the context of a sentence, it evades the critical side of the brain and commands the prospect without their knowing.
Hypnotic Presupposition
The brain can usually focus on one thing at a time. That means it is literally to presupposed (assume) and accept suggestion as facts. That's why putting presuppositions in your copy is so powerful. Below is an example of a presupposition:
"What will you do with the extra $500, $5000 even $10000 per month you'll earn when you implement Alvin Pahng's Atomic Blogging into Your online business?"
Since you are asking the prospect question, they are forced to answer it in their mind. And in order to answer the question the prospect has to assume they already have the money. Therefore, the sentence does two things:
- Assume that they have the money thanks to Alvin Phang's Atomic Blogging, thus heightening desire for the product.
- Makes their mind imagine the benefits they'll get when they're assuming they already have.
The second point is extremely important. By telling a prospect to imagine what their life would be like with the money, you are actually printing a picture in their minds. This is much powerful than giving suggestion as to what they can do with the money.
Every prospect has different needs and desire that can be triggered by a presupposition. You'll be able to tailor your copy based on their individual needs. I hope hypnotic writing is beneficial for you. There is absolutely nothing sneaky about this as long as you're selling a product that is genuinely going to help people.
I'm glad to see that you are reading this right now. Not just because I know how powerful my content is, but it shows that you understand where you should be spending your time.
By applying what you read, you will find that living your dream isn't far off as you think.
